Uta Halee Girls Village’s 2nd Annual Lunch & Learn to Feature “Biggest Losers”

On Friday, April 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Uta Halee Girls Village Guild will present its 2nd annual “Lunch & Learn,” a benefit for Uta Halee Girls Village. This year’s event, “How to Balance a Healthy Lifestyle,” will be held at the Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine Street in Omaha. Uta Halee Guild Board members Michelle Bucher and Charlene Meyer are serving as Lunch & Learn Co-chairs.

“How to Balance a Healthy Lifestyle,” features speakers Amy and Marty Wolff with Reality Wellness, who will offer a powerful mixture of touching stories, along with useful tools, to inspire us to change our own lifestyle. In 2006, Amy and Marty were cast as two of 14 obese people on NBC’s reality show “The Biggest Loser.” For eight months, they were taught by top experts in the fitness, nutritional and medical industries, resulting in a combined weight loss of 252 pounds and a new purpose for their lives: to improve the lives of overweight people ready to commit to their own health.

In 2007, Amy and Marty achieved their personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and have enjoyed sharing their passion in corporate wellness workshops, university programs and in group workout sessions at the gym. They married in March 2008 and now reside in Omaha with their son, Blaine.

In addition to the program, the event will feature a luncheon and an opportunity for questions with the speakers.

Proceeds from the Lunch & Learn will benefit Uta Halee Girls Village, providing psychiatric residential services for young women 12 to 18 whose mental health, behavioral or substance use issues require treatment in a safe and structured environment. Funds will also provide Co-educational Day Programming services.

The cost to attend the Lunch & Learn is $40 per person ($35 for groups of five or more people). Reservations may be made online at For more information, please contact April Collamer, 457-1333.
