First Annual Dog’s Day Walk to benefit the Midlands Humane Society

Council Bluffs, IA – The Midlands Humane Society is holding its first annual Dog’s Day Walk event on Saturday, September 18th at the Dream Playground at Lake Manawa.

There will be two walking distance options with the total walk being one mile long and a .5 mile distance marker set up for those who don’t want to walk the full mile. Water, clean-up and cool-off stations will be available along the walk route. Please sign up for one dog per registrant. Children 10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Check in time at Lake Manawa is from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin promptly at 9 a.m.
The cost is $25 for Adults and $15 for Children under 12 years of age. All registrants will receive an event t-shirt and a “Wag Bag” filled with goodies for you and your pooch. All participants will enjoy complimentary post-walk food and beverages.

The Finish Line Expo will feature informational booths, pet product vendors, micro chipping on site at a discounted price by done a Veterinarian and the Iowa Western Community College Vet Tech program will be trimming nails for free. Mailed entries can be sent to Terri Gach-Mills, MHS Dog’s Day Out, PO Box 1865, Council Bluffs, IA 51502-1865. Checks should be made payable to the MHS Building Fund. Registrations can be faxed to a confidential fax: 712.366.2554.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the Animal Shelter and Midlands Humane Society.
